... actually I think one problem with http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html is the clueless people who think "it doesn't work, help me plz" is a question are probably also incapable of reading a document that long.

Maybe I should just write my own shorter version at some point? Because I get a lot of math questions too that are clearly low-effort (e.g. "can you explain this plz" with a screenshot of a 2-page solution) that would benefit from the same sort of guidance.
